It’s a well-known story of imagination and heart full of beloved characters and classic songs. In this adaptation, Cameron Farnham injects the community theatre spirit into The Wondrous Wizard of Oz with references to the Lane Cove area, some Australian cultural gags, and a few additional hit songs.
There is something so alluring about the ancient world of Egypt. From the tombs to the curses and untranslated hieroglyphs, most kids go through an Egypt phase during their childhoods. Emilia Stubbs Grigoriou brings that fascination to the stage with her adaptation of Geoffrey McSkimming’s children’s book Cairo Jim. Jim is this close to uncovering the mystery of Martenarten and his hidden tomb but a rival archeologist just might stop him.
Closing out their 2018 season, the Lane Cove Theatre Company brought the world of Dr Seuss to the stage for a fun-filled production appealing to kids and adults alike. The most beloved childhood characters of the Cat in the Hat, Horton, the Grinch, Yertle the Turtle, and all their friends are brought alive for a musical extravaganza.
Mr Gørski is on the run for being too entertaining! He’s found a secret hideout, so he’s safe for now, but since we’re all here, he may as well show you some tricks! A clown under pressure does prove to be awfully entertaining.
